Limiting Authors to creating content, but an Editor is required to publish it

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Odds are this is a handled by a big, obvious and well labeled switch that I just keep missing.

I want to configure my OP2.2 site so that when someone with "author" permissions logs in, they can create content (an article) but not set its publish flag. That's something that I'd want an editor to do after giving the content a once-over and approving it.

Can anyone tell me the process to subjugate my authors this way?

You want the Workflow

You want the Workflow module:

http://drupal.org/project/workflow

I think OP2.3 (ETA this month) is shipping with it by default, but you can add it yourself now if you like.

So that's what they're calling it, Workflow

Thanks for the module name and link, from the description it appears to be exactly what I'm looking for

It's indeed shipped by

It's indeed shipped by default in OP2.3

You should use the version

You should use the version included with OP 2.3. The version on drupal.org is not exportable and is an older version, in general.
