OK, so we have a roster!

Boost are sponsoring in November, Fuzion in January & Sparks in March!

Hopefully we are all starting to get to know each other now but I'd like to suggest that we do a round of introductions each time (unless it's only the same faces everytime - in which case it might feel a bit FOTC)

maybe if January=February

Cool, thanks for the feedback. If we can now get a sign of numbers then Boost can get an idea of how much beer/pizza to provide. Click on the "Sign Up" button to confirm your interest.

Peter, would 2nd of December better fit?

Thanks for organising this Josh

Look forward to the meetup, should be good. If you want, I could do a couple minute speech on the new phonebook that we working with you at IR (although the talk would be mainly conceptual).

Sounds great

I'm quite new with Drupal but would enjoy meet like minded people to learn more about this great CMS: I'm in!

Update

Josh Waihi's picture

Ok great, that makes a total of 9 people which is plenty for starters. I've changed the date to December 2nd, shout out if that does't work.

So line up so far, Sean doing a lighting talk on Drupal work thats been going on in IRD, I'll cover either debian packaging with Drush, the conceptual monitoring tool we're currently developing 2.0 or something Drupal 7 focused.

Would be great to get a few more lighting talks and another main speaker.

There will be a computer (Ubuntu) and projector available for speakers to use.

Since Boost raised their hand first, they can sponsor this event. Thanks guys!

Count me in for the 2nd of December.

I'm in. Got a lot of various interesting stuff on at the moment. Be interested to hear what everyone is up to.
I'd do a little thing on Drupalcon CPH maybe, but there's not really a lot I can think of to focus on.

Thanks dman. I've updated the

Thanks dman.

I've updated the event node with the current talkers. There is still room for 1 lighting talk and 1 main talk.

Feel free to advertise this event around your various Drupal network, the more the merrier.

No luck

julie.metivier's picture

Sorry to mention that so late. There is a conference Web Design (http://www.meetup.com/wellingtonweb/) the 2nd december at 6pm in Wellington.
I would like to assist to both. Could we again change the date?

Thanks

Josh Waihi's picture

Damn! actually I can't do Wednesday. We're gonna have to stay with Thursday unless we can get a majority ok with another day.

What's about Friday 3rd?

julie.metivier's picture

Is there more people free on this date?

Can do that - as long as the

eileenmcnaughton's picture

Can do that - as long as the time is no earlier than 6pm

On another note - we'd be really pleased to hear from speakers who want to tell us their experiences with Aegir or work they have done on performance.

If there is anything anyone wants us to give an update on Re CiviCRM I'm sure Pete or I could do one of the SHORT talks

(e.g. Roadmap/ d7 / api changes/ CiviCase / Crowd sourcing & make-it-happen / accounts integration / CiviPledge / Giftaid (last 2 not very NZ applicable)

Eileen, I'd be keen to see

Josh Waihi's picture

Eileen, I'd be keen to see Crowd sourcing & make-it-happen or accounts integration can I put you down as the other key talk?

key doesn't sound like a

eileenmcnaughton's picture

key doesn't sound like a synonym for SHORT. I wasn't really planning on doing a power point or anything - just relaying a bit of what has been going on in the CiviCRM community and perhaps leading a talk on things-Civi that the local Wellington group are interested in - perhaps we could go with a horseshoe seating plan to make it less intimidating.....

Your a key person in the

Josh Waihi's picture

Your a key person in the CiviCRM world, it would be great to have a presentation from you even if short. Some people, I imagine, would like to know about CiviCRM, what it can do and some cool features of it and not be overwhelmed by developer discussions who are familiar with CiviCRM.

So pleaseeeeee, can you be awesomer and do a presentation?

Catalyst can't host the event

Josh Waihi's picture

Catalyst can't host the event on Friday :( December 2nd still seems the most likely date.

I'm unable to attend on

welly's picture

I'm unable to attend on Friday as I'm going to be away. Thursday or earlier is really the only good time for me.

Sounds a bit tricky

julie.metivier's picture

to change the date now. Thanks all for replying. I'll come anyway and decline the other meeting.

See you there,
Julie

welly's picture

Hi guys,

I'm really sorry but unfortunately something has come up and annoyingly I'm not going to be able to make the meet up tomorrow. Very sorry about this and if someone else is willing to sponsor the pizza/beer this time, we'll do so next.

Sorry again

Sparks Interactive is happy to jump in

janyo's picture

We would be happy to fill in and sponsor for tomorrow. Josh - could you please confirm final numbers so i know how much to get?

Great meet up last night.

Josh Waihi's picture

Great meet up last night. Thanks to everyone for coming along and to Sparks Interactive for providing the Booze and Pizza.

Summarizing the outcomes of lasts nights Drupal meet up, we've put our Meet ups into a regular schedule, from now one Drupal Meet ups will take place on the first Tuesday of the month and potentially alternate between formal presentations and informal gatherings.

Our next formal gathering will be the first tuesday of Feburary which is the 1st of Feb 2011.

There maybe an informal gathering in Janurary, keep your eyes peeled.

Moving to meetup.com

janyo's picture

Following up on Josh's comment - http://www.meetup.com/Wellington-Drupal-Meetup/ is now setup and waiting for members :-)

Please all join as new meetups will be managed there, so we can handle RSVPs and be found by people who are not subscribed to Drupal groups. But Josh will continue to post news around the meetups here as well.

See you all in the new year, thanks for the nice meetup last night!
