I hate to spring this on everybody at the last minute, but things aren't looking good right now for me and the meet-up. I got the approval from my boss to have it at our office, but I forgot about a conflict at home that is non-adjustable. Anyone else have a downtown location available for this meet-up?

Sorry we don't have office space to offer. A projector would be nice, but if we wanted to crowd around a laptop we could always go to a coffee shop (Nostalgia, Mestizo, Coffee Connection) or pizza at Stoneground... all have free wifi.
Does this mean we should plan for the same bat time on the same bat channel next week? Would either of the two locations work out for Wednesday the 17th?

Might be able to make something work next week. Not sure though. We could shoot for it and see. If Kyle needs us to stick to the same place then we can do that. It is closer to Trax, but out location is a few blocks west of it as a backup if I can work out my schedule.

While I can make it either tonight or next week, it sounds like there would be a better turnout for next week, and we'd be able to meet in the normal location.

If there is a Utah Student that is planning on attending, maybe we can have them reserve a room at the library for us to meet in. Any Utah students planning on attending tonight?

I hit submit earlier before seeing the suggestion about next week. If more people can make it next week, that sounds good to me. If anyone can't meet next week and still wants together, I'm happy to do both.

I am going to be unavailable most of November. I have had some personal issues come up that will not allow me to make it to the meetups which means that we probably won't be able to meet in our typical downtown location. Sorry to leave you hanging right now. I wish I could come but unfortunately it is just a bad time.

I hope things work out for you. Best wishes :-)
I've been having trouble posting here today - it looks like a post didn't go through earlier. So my understanding is we're not meeting and aiming for next Wed. Andrew will you let us know when you find out if you have a place available? If not - and I realize it's not preferred by all - I think a public place is better than no meet-up (even if more "social than business"). And if it doesn't work out, then a "Happy Thanksgiving" to everyone. Have a great rest of the week.

Tis better to have a public space meeting than no meeting at all. Folks coming from Provo, Logan, and anything outside of a 20 mile radius of downtown might disagree. At the very least, it's a great opportunity to bounce around ideas.

Anyone interested in the SL Library? We can actually reserve it, and even though I wasn't there, I heard it was nice. Anyone here that made it to that meet-up?
Posted by dharmatech on November 11, 2010 at 4:31am
The lower level meeting rooms are large (~20-30 person capacity) and each floor has smaller rooms (~8-10 people?). One potential problem is they don't allow food in the meeting rooms. Not a big deal but that's usually the hang up for most user group meetings. Not sure about a projector.

Not sure if the meeting is still on, but there's a great art space/coffeehouse that is available.
Mestizo Coffeehouse at 631 W North Temple has a creative meeting space that can be reserved which includes a nice projector, screen and audio. The art space is free to use but they would like people to order food vs. bringing food from the outside. Supporting the local arts and a west side small business while talking Drupal seems like a good match. We worked from there today and loved the space. Solid XMission wireless.

Sounds like a plan to me. Could you reserve it for 7:00? I'll show up and there was a number of other people who said this day/time would work for them so we'll have a few anyways.

Just found out they host an open mic from 7-10pm in the gallery so the projector/screen isn't available. They also said the gallery is booked M-Th from 7-10pm... so we would need to either move the time or day if we wanted to use their space. Bummer.

Bummer.
Not sure what others are thinking for tonight? I've been a bit "under the weather", but I'm happy to still try to make it if we have a location set in the next hour or so. I'm not familiar enough with Downtown to make specific suggestions.

details?
Andrew,
Can you provide/confirm the time, address and any specific instructions for gaining access to the building?
