Does OG_Panel break group RSS subscriptions?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I haven't researched this thoroughly, but it seems that implementing Panel Pages may break (or at least change) their pre-existing RSS subscriptions. I've recently noticed that four of my G.D.O. subscriptions are broken, right about the time that each of them implemented Panel Pages -- Alumni, Churches, Drupal Dojo and Drupal in Education (I implemented three of the four.

Anyone else notice this? Recommendations on how to fix or change the RSS Feeds? Is there still just one feed for the group, or multiple feeds depending on how the views are setup?

I can't speak to the others,

I can't speak to the others, but with the Drupal in Education group, when you set up the panels, you also made some good edits to the group mission statement -- in this process, the URL of the group also changed, either as a result of pathauto or as a result of it being edited/saved.

This name change would have broken the rss feed for anyone who had subscribed to the feed via the old url. Not the end of the world, but something that would have been better off avoided.

This url change could be a separate issue from og_panels entirely.

To test whether this is a bug in og_panels, or something to do with implementation, I recommend rolling back the existing panels, and starting back up from scratch, and testing the rss feed as you do it.

URL change

Wow! I never noticed the change in the group URL until you pointed it out.

The good news is:

  1. The old URL http://groups.drupal.org/drupaled-distro still works; it redirects to the new URL http://groups.drupal.org/drupal-education.

  2. The RSS Feed is fixed, and it's not dependent on the group URL or group page URLs. It uses node ID.

  3. From the group home, you can still subscribe to the same RSS Feed like before, even though it doesn't immediately show all posts.

Yes, it did break group rss feeds. Now fixed in CVS and on groups.drupal.org. Thanks.

Still broken?

Forgive me if I'm wrong and this is a separate issue, but using OG 5.6.1 on my site if I create any new page the rss feeds are broken. Also, if you make a new page and tell it to be the default group home page, it adds an additional RSS feed that is also broken that appears along next to it.

This is a different issue

This is a different issue that is being worked on in the Panels issue queue.
