I am hoping you guys may have a good suggestion for me as I am stumpped!!!
Recently I have updated MANY sites from 6.16, 6.17, 6.18 to the latest 6.19 core. However I have one site that is just NOT doing it.
It is an Acquia Drupal build and while some modules get update others do not and the CORE just won't update from 6.16 to 6.19.
I follow the same procedure every time
1) Optimize database
2) Backup database
3) Backup all site files
4) Down load UPDATE or Full Site install
5) place site in maintenance
6) Delete all files I will be replacing
7) Upload all new files
8) Run update.php
Am I a moron, or did I miss a step...even though I just did the same thing for 8 other sites in the past week.
How would I manually update a site or MAKE an update happen?
Out of my mind...Will
Thanks!

Just some thoughts that come to mind...
Looks like a reasonable process, no obviousAny details from the failure? Have you tried upgrading version-by-version rather than all at once?

Check the file system
One site we recently took over had the contrib modules all over the place, not all in sites/all/modules, which makes updating a much hairier process than it needs to be.
Also maybe try updating with an Acquia Drupal distribution package?

Version by version, is
Version by version, is usually not an issue unless you do a major minor update such as 6.01 -> 6.10, and I have never had an issue with a security update, as a matter of fact I DON'T get why 6.18 and 6.19 are two different posted versions, they are the SAME files and file set, by their description and I did verify this.
Rich, I have am the only maintainer of the site, I have always used the Acquia update or full package files, however neither have worked nor have the core file downloads from drupal.org including 6.18 and 6.19. In other words all the Acquia distribution modules are in the \modules\acquia folder and all the rest are in the \sites\all\modules. The big thing is the acquia profile, from what I understand and that is correctly placed as well.
Keep the ideas coming, I appreciate it

What specific error are you receiving that prevents you from completing the upgrade?

There is no error, thats the problem, it just doesn't upgrade. So I was looking for a manual way of doing it.
If I look at the updates available during the update process, it shows the latest system module at 6055.
I couldn't find what the new number is from my searches for core 6.19
