I recognize that I'm new around here, but I was curious about what type of things are going on in the Drupal community in Utah, or more specifically Salt Lake.
I do apologize for going about it this way, but I find drupal groups very disorienting and not very friendly to use. I have used drupal for about a year now and want to get involved in it a little more. Up until now I have merely used it and dealt with some of the peculiarities. Now that I am dealing with it in more detail I would like to get involved.
Any suggestions on how to do this are welcome. Thanks.

We usually have a meet-up
We usually have a meet-up every 2-3 months, as well as relevant discussions here in the group as needed. I would expect another meet-up some time in January. We'd love to see you there.

Where abouts?
Just out of curiosity, where are the meet-ups held? Thanks for the your note.

Just Joined the group today
I'm new as well and would like to get involved with the group to learn more. I use Joomla for freelance and am an Administrator for Cascade Server at work but would like to learn Drupal as well. I'm really excited for Drupal 7. I saw the release candidate 1 for version 7 is available today. I've installed it but am still trying to wrap my head around all the new concepts of Drupal.
I plan on doing one of my freelance projects with it to force myself to learn the system. Any favorite tutorials out there or any must have module?
I have lots of questions but I'll hold off and try and figure it out through searching Drupal's site and getting in some hands on learning.
Must haves
Must have is a little project specific but CCK and Views are used pretty heavily by a lot of people. I find that each new project I have used a slightly different configuration of modules but CCK is a must. If your into SEO you should have PageTitle at least.
