Drupal 7 Release Parties

jpoesen's picture

We all know Drupal 7 will be released shortly.
D7 Release Parties are being thrown all over the world in celebration - most taking place Jan 7, 2011.

I know for a fact the African Drupal Community is much larger and more active than most people realize, so why not take this opportunity to show the world where all the African Drupal communities are hiding?

The official site: http://drupal7releaseparty.org/

I've added the first African release party (Senegal) and I welcome you all to step up and get your communities on the map.

Cheers!
J.

Ghana, Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya: I'm looking at you.
I know you guys have a growing community. What's keeping you?

Also: South Africa, please announce the party. The sooner the better. Keep the momentum going, even if you don't have all the details yet.

Thanks!

Coca-cola dome Johannesburg

Willem van Straaten's picture

Hi all

We can do it at eConsultant offices inside the dome - I have confirmed the "Augusta suite". I am sure everyone who attended last time would agree that its a cool space for a PARTY. On that note I will ensure we have some Champagne and some Snacks. DJ CAz will be making some groovin tunes

I suggest we do it early, sometime between 5 and 8 so no one have to cancel Friday night plans. ... We can obviously make it last as long as we like ;)

will make sure we have a projector to show some other Drupal parties happening around the world with a stream of pictures tagged #d7rp ...

Thanks Willem.

If you'd like to attend the Joburg event at the Dome, Northgate please sign up at http://drupal.co.za/content/drupal-7-launch-party-joburg so we can get an idea of numbers.

Please note we'll start at 5pm - hope to see you all then.

Really wish someone can join me and help organize one in Morocco

Hi youkho

As a first step it would be good to post your intentions of organizing a D7 release party in Morocco on http://groups.drupal.org/morocco.
That way other people in your area can at least see you're working on this.

As soon as you've done this, I can help you with the preparations and try to get more people on board.
I'm in Senegal myself so I won't be able to join you there :)
J.

Someone's already hosting one
