OpenPublish is a complex, large Drupal distribution that (due to its large code-base) has higher minimal hardware requirements than bare-bones Drupal. Because of this OpenPublish is not officially supported on the shared hosting environments (even though some of our crafty users, have still managed to run it on some shared hosts :)).
Deploying a complex CMS for high-traffic production use requires complex planning, testing and a lot of experience. That said, we understand the need for people to install OpenPublish on some cheaper hosting to test-drive and develop. That is why we took time to develop a detailed, step-by-step guide for setting up and tuning a minimal required server config for OP, on a RackSpace Cloud Server: http://bit.ly/fKofDo
Happy New Year!

Rackspace Cloud isn't exactly
Rackspace Cloud isn't exactly cheaper hosting, it can easily replace a dedicated server. Mine is a quad Xeon server with 4GB RAM!
Good tutorial though, I'd recommend Rackspace Cloud or Linode for development. Either are good.
