This is the beginning of the conversation for our own Drupal7 Release Party Saturday Jan 8th!

The Drupal community is being asked to use a central site dedicated to the purpose of tracking the D7 Parties. created an event at http://www.drupal7releaseparty.org/united-states/release-party-indy-drupal-users-group Once we work out the details here, I will populate them there.

Aaron will let us know if the Midwest Internet offices [MW] are available Saturday. If not, we have a few other options. We're going to use some left over DrupalCamp funds to get the party started! :-)

Respond to this thread and comment on the following ideas:

  1. Lunch together noon-ish [at MW or elsewhere] and have 10min lightening round talks from anyone wishing to show off some D7 Love. Then we disperse to a pub or something.
  2. Hangout 4pm-ish [at MW or elsewhere] and have 10min lightening round talks from anyone wishing to show off some D7 Love. Then we disperse to a pub or something.
  3. Dinner together 6-ish [Where?]  Remain there after dinner OR  disperse to a pub or something.
  4. Dinner together 6-ish [at MW or elsewhere] and have 10min lightening round talks from anyone wishing to show off some D7 Love. Then we disperse to a pub or something.
  5. Your Ideas?

We have 7 days to pull this off. I want to see INDY counted among the thousands across the globe who will celebrate the awesomeness of D7!

4:30 or later please....

I'm very excited to be part of the Drupal 7 Release Party activities.

I have an appointment in the mid afternoon but could join in by 4:30 or 5ish. I'm up for any plans that involve sharing some Drupal appreciation and I like the 'disperse to a pub' theme that's emerging.

Anything I can do to help? Let me know.

Thanks, Doug, for getting things moving.

peace,
Barbara

Sounds like fun

I wish I could help celebrate, but I will be out of town on Saturday. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help before-hand though.
