If you cannot attend in person, this event will also be live-streamed on http://www.livestream.com/sandiegodrupal

North San Diego County Drupal Meeting will take place at Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad.

The Agenda:
* Business Relations in the community -- Acquia guests Peter G. and Todd Barnett
* Lightning talks (5 minutes each; come prepared to share or discuss!)
* Using Git with Drupal.org session -- Sam Boyer (@sdboyer)
- Sam Boyer is the drupal.org Git Migration project lead, and knows a heck of a lot about how to manipulate the Git distributed version control system to make it do a plethora of amazing things.

What would you most like to learn about during the Third North County San Diego meetup? (Git won the poll)

Wysiwyg

I would like to put out a challenge to Dave Ambrose who's site was reviewed by Steve last night. Update your site's Wysiwyg by creating a new Input Format (admin/settings/filters/list) and hook up the Wysiwyg to it. While doing so, take some screen shots of what you had to do to fix it and do a lighting talk on it. :)

Acquia's Peter Guagenti (Vice President of Services) and Todd Barnett (Area VP, Business Development, West and APAC) will be coming to our meetup. If you have any questions for them about Acquia or maybe the new Acquia Dev and or Managed Cloud be sure and ask before 8:30 pm as they have to be on their way at that time.

So far we have had alot of interest expressed in:

  1. Starting to go over deployment systems. From basic to advanced, from code to database.

and

  1. To review the best sessions that were at Chicago. We are still going back and forth on this as many feel we should have a pre-meeting to sort out organizing a presentation.

Question for Acquia

I'd really like to hear any advice from Peter and Todd on selling Drupal vs. other CMS systems like Sitecore, Sharepoint, Vignette, etc.

Jeremy Duimstra

Maybe clarify that Jeremy...

Since Acquia is a Drupal only shop, being that they are Drupal in a sense (Founder of Drupal being their leader and all)... maybe you mean that they should bring some documentation on how they sell Drupal vs. other systems... if you let me know a bit more detail on your question I can let them know before they get here.

Re: Acquia is coming to the next North County meetup

This is great news! I think we should give them a 15-20 minute window for question-and-answer discussion of what's going on in Acquia right now that our San Diego Drupal people should know about. I'm sure there's lots to learn!

As to the deployment systems discussion, we might begin talking about it this coming Thursday, and introduce it as an ongoing series for the next month or two since there's so much to talk about & learn. If anyone is interested in long-term Drupal deployment methodologies, they should also join the http://groups.drupal.org/build-systems-change-management group here on g.d.o. because that's where the Drupal 8 Deployment and Change Management Initiative discussions are being held.
