Drupal 7 Study Group
For those interested in participating in the Drupal 7 Study Group remember to get a copy of Pro Drupal & Development, Third Edition by Todd Tomlinson. Please read Chapter 1, How Drupal Works. We will review the chapter at our meeting. Please come prepared with questions.
Also, after April be ready to write code based on the examples provided in the book. You install any IDE you are comfortable with. However, if you don't have a preferred IDE you might consider netbeans; it's free. I have version 6.9.1. Version 7 beta 2 is also available.
I can give a brief presentation on what little I know about netbeans in May.
FYI - Chapter 1 has some
FYI - Chapter 1 has some minor errors or bits of misinformation (nothing really big) which I'd challenge you all to find. I don't think I reviewed that part.

Incomplete, could do better.
Okay, that's one down.
mass transit from NYC to NNJ DUG
I work in Chelsea in Manhattan and I am planning to come by mass transit.
Here is a Google Map for Fenster Hall, 323 Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Newark, New Jersey 07103
The MLK entrance may not be open during meetups, there is another entrance at the back and closer to the parking lot.
NJIT is accessible from the Newark Penn Station (the PATH train goes there), however the best way to go from NYC is by the 108 bus which leaves Port Authority gate 213 at 6PM and 7PM. The 108 bus also stops in Union City NJ on the way, and you can catch it at Newark Penn Station at 6:30 or 7:30 PM if that is easier for you than getting to Port Authority in Manhattan: 108 schedule
¿ are you netsperienced ?

Tonight was a good night
Thanks everyone for coming and for a resounding, unanimous 'Aye'!
Ninety percent of most things in life is just showing up. And you did that, despite all the obstacles.
Now lets take the last 10 percent by coming together around our Drupal 7 workshop. Let's pick a
project to do some website building, theming and coding.
We have to help get our noobies (Matt, Lance, Ena, Terra, who did I forget) up to speed.
I will post some thoughts here tomorrow and the following days under a separate thread.
Please chime in with your own comments, suggestions and questions. Let's bandy about
some ideas; let's brainstorm.
Also remember: come up with a short list of 5 modules you would like to upgrade from 6 to 7.
Good Meeting!
Thanks to all for an interesting and fun evening. Looking forward to next meeting--just have to catch-up with reading Drupal 7 book.
