Hi Denver

I'm from DUG-TO (Toronto), and recently read about how DBUG has been playing a drupal game of sorts. http://growingventuresolutions.com/blog/fun-and-games-denver-drupal-meetup

It sounds like a really cool idea. I didn't see any links to any of the creations that were made. Do any of you still have any of the sites up?

Also, I'd love to chat with someone about how the whole thing progressed throughout the hour. I mean, an hour is not a lot of time. Curious to see how far you guys got in hour. More so, I'd love to do something like that with DUG-TO but rather than breaking off into groups and restricting yourselves to only a certain group of modules... I wonder what can be done if the entire group was focused on the same project, no limits as far as modules or coding is concerned. Also, increase the time to around 3 hours. I'd like to think that a lot can be done if properly executed. It would require a lot of co-ordination, and some great project management and planning... but this is why I would love to chat with someone about how the experience was. Maybe I can learn some things about DBUG's experiences.

Anyway, if anyone could help me out by sharing a few words... please email me at sebastian.lesch [@] gmail [dot] com

Thanks DBUG!

I don't think any of the sites are still around. They were all basically created as "throw away" sites to show a purpose but not be fully useful.

I think a lot of groups do a longer event like you describe, whether a night or day or full weekend. The Orlando group does that as part of its camps and finds them to be really successful.

We should probably discuss this in a full thread on http://groups.drupal.org/local-user-group-organizers so others can chime in.

I think it might be fun to do

I think it might be fun to do something like this during Drupalcamp this year. Maybe we can make groups the first day during a bof and then plan out times to meet throughout the weekend and then we can all present what we came up with on the last day or at the very least all the groups can have a show and tell amongst themselves.. Just a thought
