Hi,
I have been to the meetings a few times, and am in the process of learning Drupal from the ground up. On one of the meetings there was a comment made on one of the "pitfalls" [as I understood it] of Drupal being the utilization of Panels in any project. I was wondering if I could get some more input on this since I am at a point where either I start paying attention to them, or leaving them on the way side.
Thank you.

hi ana
You might have already gotten an answer at the last meetup, but my 2 cents...
The "pitfall" of Panels is that it's a very large set of modules and can be tough to configure properly especially if you're new to Drupal. If you don't need panels for your site though, you're safe not paying attention to this module.
Many excellent Drupal developers do not use panels, and many do, it's a preference. Those of us who don't use a module called Context to perform a lot of the same tricks.
