Still a newbie, but I got myself a couple of sites running.
I had to make some adjustments to some permission settings to get SFTP to work for some accounts.
In the process, I think I might have disturbed a permission related to MySQL server.
I keep getting a cannot access server error.
I tried just about every fix for this error as reported by numerous google searches. Spent 8 hrs today trying to resolve the matter.
If anyone would be kind enough to sit with me to go over the settings for mysql that would be awesome. Of course, all at your convenience.

settings.php
In case you inadvertantly changed something, you could check the default settings.php file that comes w/a fresh install of Drupal to see what those settings are & compare/contrast vs. what's in your current settings.php file.
Without knowing what the specific error is, it's hard to troubleshoot further (aside from the standard, check with your hosting provider to ensure MySQL's actually running or have them reboot it if you don't have access to do that, etc.).
Hope that helps.

whats the error you're seeing?
I can't delete your post either, but one of the other admins with more permission should be able to if that's your intent.
