Drupal.org BDD Testing Sprint
Join us in IRC on #drupal-vcs Tuesday, September 18 during this day-long virtual sprint to expand and organize test coverage for Drupal.org. It's a great opportunity to learn how to write BDD web acceptance tests and simultaneously make Drupal.org more awesome.
The sprint goals include:
* Improving documentation
* Identifying missing test coverage
* Creating new tests
You do not have to be able to write PHP to be a valuable and productive participant, and if you have just a couple of hours, that should be time enough to lend a hand.

The BDD testing team has been working to make the transition from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7 (and all future improvements) as smooth as possbible. Join us on Monday, September 10 at 7am PDT / 10am EDT for a demonstration of just a few of over 100 feature tests, learn how you can get involved, and pick up great ideas for quality assurance for your own client projects!
The demo will last no more than 30 minutes with an additional half-hour for questions and answers.
A brief background on BDD:
- What it is
- How it can be used, and how it is being used on Drupal.org
Drupal.org team week notes #9
We are finally back after Drupalcon and "after-Drupalcon week" with a short week notes post.
DrupalCon..
was amazing! We've had several BOF sessions, met lots of community members and had lots of productive discussions. Drupal.org office hours BOF resulted in a "Drupal 8 call to action" block on the drupal.org front page (thanks woeldiche). Notes from other BOFs will be published as updates to their relevant issues or groups on groups.drupal.org.

Project ratings and reviews BOF at DC Munich
Drupal.org has a huge number of modules and themes available for download, often it is hard to choose which ones of them to use when building a Drupal site.
Let's discuss how we can implement project ratings and reviews on Drupal.org to help site builders determine quality of the projects and choose the best ones for them.

Let's have another D7 Upgrade sprint at DrupalCon Munich! Anyone from any of the focused teams should join up for at least a couple hours, and if you've been hanging around the edges and watching the site "get itself upgraded", now's the chance to participate, test, bugfix, patch, and just generally lend your support!

Webmasters issue queue has currently 1077 open issues. Next week it is DrupalCon Munich and I'm curious - will anyone of webmasters be there? Let's sit together and clean that pile of issues a bit?

Join us this Saturday for case study sprint on IRC.
On August 11, 2012 at 2pm UTC, we’re going to get together on IRC (#drupal-marketing channel on Freenode) to work on migrating case studies from the old content type to the new section (http://drupal.org/case-studies), as well as answer any questions and give guidance on new case studies.
You don’t need to be a programmer or have special knowledge to help, just good judgement and English language/grammar skills.
Help us promote Drupal and show off what Drupal can do!
What are the use cases for ApacheSolr search on drupal.org?
As part of the D7 Upgrade initiative, the ApacheSolr Team is looking for some guidance on the behavior-driven user stories for all the ways that search should be functional on www.drupal.org so that they can manually test for things that might be broken and make sure they've completed the upgrade properly without losing anything.

Last week the COD team finished their summer marathon and launched five DrupalCon websites on the latest version of COD for Drupal 7. Find more details in this blog post by Jacob Redding. We'd like to say thank you to everyone who helped us make that happen.
During the past weeks it seems we've reached a consensus on the guidelines for the Marketplace and are going to move forward with the code implementation in the next few weeks.

For the past few months, we have been holding "Drupal.org Office Hours" on IRC. Each Monday anyone interested in contributing to Drupal.org development had a chance to talk to the team, get support and advice, generally see what we are working on. Lately we noticed that less and less people attend office hours. We would like to know what is the reason and how can we make office hours more efficient. Please fill out this short survey to let us know how we can improve!
Now to the updates.

Improving Drupal Mindshare Among the Public
First, disclaimers:
1. This might be in the wrong place. If so, my apologies.
2. This might not be the right way to propose this. Again, apologies.
3. I am not a marketing or user interface expert, I am just a project manager at a Drupal shop, and this post is based on my experiences with clients. I also do a lot of point and click development for my company, and personally. I do some theming and module development, as well.

Drupal.org team week notes #4
The past 2 weeks have been pretty active and we have some awesome developments to share today.
First, a new slideshow has been added to the Case studies section thanks to bmaheshs and Kapil Juneja from Tekriti Software. This section is now fully ready to showcase the best sites built with Drupal. If you have an impressive site to share, follow the guidelines and publish your own case study.
