Monthly Meetup, Local Drupal Camp, and IRC...

I am hoping to get us local Drupal ninjas and any interested together for a monthly meeting. We had the recent meeting at 88 Broadway in Urbana but I was yearning for a computer and internet so we could show things off. I am hoping for more of a hacking/show and tell format that is more familiar to a typical user group meeting. I was thinking of something like the last Wednesday of every month say at 6 or 7 in the evening. I am completely open to other days as well. OJC is more than willing to play host to these meetings until other locations are available. We have wireless and decent group presentation facilities in our offices located in downtown Urbana. If no one objects, I will kick things off by creating an event here for us on the 24th at OJC.

Further, OJC is very interested in getting other local (as in all of Central Illinois) groups and organizations together to do another Drupal Camp. Knowing that we have already had a couple successful one day Drupal Camps (thanks everyone at BU and UIUC), I am hoping we can join together to host a longer (2-3 days), annual, and possibly larger Drupal Camp that would be valuable for all of us in the region whether we are new to Drupal or experienced black belts. I would love to hear thoughts on this from all. Do let me know if you are an organization who would be interested in partnering with us or if you are an individual who would be willing to volunteer.
