I am new to Drupal, and was wondering if anyone knows of a local training class in the Atlanta Area. I know a few basics and would like to learn more.

The Atlanta Drupal User's Group http://drupalatlanta.com/ has monthly meetups which can be found at http://www.meetup.com/drupalatlanta/. Andy Thornton launched a coffee shop meetup recently. I am unsure of when it meets, but it may very well be the best opportunity to ask casual (or even more detailed) questions in person.

Perhaps the best resource would be the DrupalCamp in Spartanburg, SC on the 12th of this month. It is only about a three hour drive away and would be a great way to expose yourself to the Drupal community and all it has to offer.

Open Source Training - OSTraining.com

I've heard good feedback on Open Source Training. Their course schedule does not show anything soon in Atlanta, but they're based out of Gainesville, GA, so I'm sure you could work something out. See http://www.ostraining.com/live-drupal-training/

The founder, Steve Burge, made his mark in the Joomla space, but he has expanded the business to Drupal and WordPress. We're considering using OS Training to work with some of our content editors, and they seem reasonably priced.

Hello. Sorry if this gets to you a month too late, but I literally just signed up at Drupal.com 3 minutes ago and saw your post. Just thought I would mention (in case you haven't already heard) a great online video training site called lynda.com. I just finished the "Drupal 7 Essential Training" course, which is something like 7 hours. It covers everything. It's $25 per month to join, which is incomprehensibly low, considering there are literally hundreds of software titles that come with that fee. I've learned everything Adobe makes for CS5 Master Collection (some 25 titles) + Drupal, SEO, and much more in the last few months for like $75 out of pocket, and I was ready to pay a private guy $50/hour! I think I saved thousands! Anyway, there are several Drupal courses, and they are very well presented. Absolutely worth the $25. Check out http://www.lynda.com I hope this was helpful.
