The August meeting of the San Diego DUG is happening on Wednesday August 10th at the Hall of Champions in Balboa Park.
This month we'll be breaking down our favorite sessions from Drupalcamp LA, which happened this past weekend in Irvine. If you went to DCLA, come prepared to talk about your favorite session and what you liked about it. If you didn't get a chance to make it to the camp, you'll hear a recap fomr the rest of us, and we may even queue up some of the session recordings, which are already posted online.
After that we'll do a couple basic reverse site teardowns. Jay Lee will show us what makes http://livingwiththewebers.com/ tick, and Kathy Hayashi will illustrate the inner workings of http://www.bleatingheart.com/.
If either of them can't make it, we'll pick something that looks interesting to the group from this list so if you're interested in volunteering a site for one of these, post your links on that page.
Next, we'll get into some lighting talks...
Lightning talks give anyone (and I mean anyone - you, the person next to you and the one across the room) the chance to discuss a recent Drupal thought, observation, or experience that takes five minutes or less to talk about. You can teach us something, wonder out loud why X doesn't work like you think it should, or ask questions about some Drupally thing you're struggling to understand. The only rule for Lightning Talks is that you're going to be stopping at five minutes whether you're done or not. Other than that's it's fair game, so step up and have fun!
Newcomers are always welcome, bring any of your friends that might be interested in learning about Drupal. We hope to see you on Wednesday at the Balboa Park Hall of Champions.

Reverse site teardowns
Jay Lee and Kathy Hayashi have each a site of mine and have been busy looking behind the curtain. If all goes well both are prepared to speak tomorrow. Jay and Kathy, please let us know whether you'll be there and ready to go.
Looking forward to see you all!

Reverse Site Teardown Presentation
Yes - I'll be there tomorrow. I received one of Christoph's sites and can present my adventures and findings of a reverse site teardown investigation. See you then.

Theme templates for more images
As promised, here's the template code for the image table at the end of some of my content types. The field name I use is more_images, template names follow from this. This is a nice way of allowing your content editors to add many images to nodes, use of HTML tables for layout notwithstanding.
See http://bleatingheart.com/story/sheep/flock for an example of the end result.
First, you need to duplicate content-field.tpl.php from Drupal core and drop it into your theme's directory. Then add a new file content-field-field_more_images.tpl.php with this content and edit for your circumstances:
<?php
// $Id:$
/**
* @file content-field-field_more_images.tpl.php
* Theme implementation to display multiple values in the mini-gallery field.
*
* Available variables:
* - $node: The node object.
* - $field: The field array.
* - $items: An array of values for each item in the field array.
* - $teaser: Whether this is displayed as a teaser.
* - $page: Whether this is displayed as a page.
* - $field_name: The field name.
* - $field_type: The field type.
* - $field_name_css: The css-compatible field name.
* - $field_type_css: The css-compatible field type.
* - $label: The item label.
* - $label_display: Position of label display, inline, above, or hidden.
* - $field_empty: Whether the field has any valid value.
*
* Each $item in $items contains:
* - 'view' - the themed view for that item
*
* @see template_preprocess_content_field()
*/
$columns = 3;
$rows = array_chunk($items, $columns);
?>
<?php if (!$field_empty) : ?>
<table class="more-images">
<tbody>
<?php foreach ($rows as $row_number => $columns): ?>
<?php
$row_class = 'row-' . ($row_number + 1);
if ($row_number == 0) {
$row_class .= ' row-first';
}
if (count($rows) == ($row_number + 1)) {
$row_class .= ' row-last';
}
?>
<tr class="<?php print $row_class; ?>">
<?php foreach ($columns as $column_number => $item): ?>
<td class="<?php print 'col-'. ($column_number + 1); ?>">
<div class="more-image"><?php print $item['view']; ?></div>
<div class="more-image-title"><?php print $item['data']['title']; ?><div>
</td>
<?php endforeach; ?>
</tr>
<?php endforeach; ?>
</tbody>
</table>
<?php endif; ?>

Great code snippet,
Great code snippet, Christoph. Allowing users to include a nicely formatted set of images within the content of a node is a great feature of the site. Also found a link to another writeup on content images: http://www.group42.ca/node_image_gallery_imagefield
Wanted to thank you again, Christoph, for allowing us to use your sites. It was a pleasure learning how others investigate sites and the great discussions that followed. Looking forward to hearing about other sites/approaches in the future.

Pleasure was mine
It was exciting to see and hear your and Jay's take on my sites, and quite surprising too. Thanks for indulging me!
If anyone else has site to share for a reverse teardown, I can only recommend the experience.

I'm building a Drupal
I'm building a Drupal intranet for my company and this is exactly what I'm looking for. Perfect timing! Thanks for sharing!
DUG NYC has great content.
Can we have more meetups like this NYC meetup? http://www.livestream.com/aveventstream/video?clipId=pla_c99131f0-ca2d-4...
It was organized well with the first part of the meetup geared more toward people new to the community while the second half was a lot more tech-heavy.
Cool, I'll take a look
Cool, I'll take a look at this and see what lessons we can learn from our East coast colleagues . If anyone else wants to take a look at this, we could have a lighting talk about it.
Parking is tight
Try to find space further down toward Gymnasium and Aerospace Museum, or below the Hall of Fame alongside Presidents Way.
See you all in a few.

Are you going to be streaming
Are you going to be streaming this live? Wanted to go for my first time to check it out, but can't make it.
