Hey SD Druaplers,

Last week we had our November meetup, which was an interesting meeting to say the least. We all met in the courtyard at Platt only to find out that they had no idea we were coming. We eventually migrated to a coffee shop down the street where we sat and talked in small groups about this and that. Unfortunately, it was too loud to organize a real meeting. In time we went back to Platt and monopolized the break room where we had a good talk summing up some of the things we all talked about in smaller groups earlier at the coffee shop.

We also talked a lot about the idea of DrupalCamp San Diego. Very Exciting. We're just starting to get the website setup for our first camp(drupalsd.com) and we'll soon get everyone's great ideas flowing.

As for next month though...
We need to lock down a place. Platt is a good place to run the meetings, but they need to know when we're coming. They seemed interested in continuing to host, as long as we let them know when the meeting are so they can reserve space. I'll get in touch with Harry so we can make sure to lock it down for next month.

Wow, sorry to hear about that

That sounded kinda disjointed. Sorry.

I'm now in contact with the dean of the school via email, and we're trying to get something arranged for December. Standby for further news.

I like having it at a college - we should definitely try and get that PHP professor more involved if possible too. And we discussed re-arranging the chairs somewhat to facilitate more conversation. The lecture layout of all chairs facing front made it hard to talk to people nearby (good for presentations though).

Word on the street is that the Platt College is more than happy to host our meetings, but since they have to bump a class full of people into the lunchroom in order to accommodate us, they can't promise anything steady and monthly.

For now, the dean has offered us the venue for Dec. 3rd. I'm going to schedule that, and hope it's agreeable to all, or at least most of us.
