We've just finished the first stage of our new HTML5 themed site on OpenPublish and thought it might be of interest to the group.
The reason for the change was initially because we wanted to strip down our OP site, as the only real features which we were using actively was the OpenCalais, Authors and Events function, however we could replicate that (except for OpenCalais which is still in dev) on D7, however we encountered too many errors when trying to export/import all of our nodes/url aliases etc.
So we then decided that we would strip down OP to only what we needed and build a new HTML5 theme from the ground up. We wanted a new theme from scratch and thought that it might as well be HTML5.
The base theme used was Boron for Zen, which creates a sub-theme of Zen with HTML5 markup. And we then used some further theming modules to semantically enhance the content including 'Semantic Views' and 'Semantic CCK'.
The new theme/site is only in its first release and we have another two upgrades planned over the next month, enhancing the Events section of the site and adding further functionality, however any feedback would be welcomed.

P.S. We're aware that the OP faithful may disagree with this method of theming an OP install, however the nature of our theme, views and content means that we should hopefully avoid too many future complications.
