I feel funny about the graduation hat... I'm not sure what the logo is for though? Is it for an LMS? Is it for a training course?
[At Acquia, they used such a hat for the training logo... but no one asked me, heh. ]
I prefer the lightbulb as a symbol of a learning experience. The eureka moment! Maybe druplicon with a lightbulb over his head?
However if this is for an EDU product or service for formal education with graduation, then this would be a great image.

LOL that is a cool update. I like how the lightbulb then becomes the source of light for the reflection on the top of the head.
I would say the feel of the druplicon is flat areas of color, which prints easily in black and white and other print. Maybe the lightbulb could be treated in a flat color style, more cartoony? Am I nit-picking?
