Moshe - can you comment on allowing anonymous comments?
My preference is to know who everybody is when they post, but I'd like to hear your ideas on the subject.

not very firm opinion
i can go either way on this. we currently allow anon. we have captcha math test enabled - not sure how effective a spam block that it.
you never really know who is speaking, even for a logged in user. thats username isn't too different from the info that anon users optionally provide.
theory and practice
In theory they are about the same thing, but in practice at least you have a username to identify the person. It doesn't seem like any spammers are targetting g.d.o (yet).
My situation is someone saying "I want to go to that meeting next week too!" and I have limited ability to actually contact them.
So, I guess I'm just saying +1 to turn anonymous off, but it's not a huge deal.
