We will be hosted by the Harvard Stem Cell Institute at 42 Church Street in Cambridge, above the Border Cafe. This was the location of our October and June meetups. There is an alcove entrance on the Church Street side, and it says Harvard Stem Cell Institute on the door. Maureen Lyons will be there to let people in. If folks are late they can call up using the dialog box next to the door. We'll also check the door periodically.
Lightning Talks
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to present for 5 minutes on a topic of their choosing. You may show off your Drupal site, ask some questions of the audience, give a module demonstration, share some marketing ideas for Drupal, and so on. Just keep it brief. No expertise or planning required - just do it.
After the meetup, some of us will continue the conversation over dinner in one of the hundreds of fine restaurants in Harvard Square.

Looking forward to it
Hi there, I haven't been to a meet up before as that would involve actually meeting new people (yikes!) but I am happy to attend! I can demo a site or two if you like. Looking forward to it...
See you there
Moshe, I'd like to hear/see some of your work from the Fields in Core sprint. Could you show some off at the meetup?
I second that
I'd love to hear about this as well.
Done ... Barry Jaspan, Lead
Done ... Barry Jaspan, Lead of the FIC dev team, will be giving a 30 minute presentation about fields. We'll also have time for Q&A.
Lullabots In Town
Several of the 'bots are in Providence next week working on our next DVD releases. We'll try to finish up early on Tuesday and drive up! I'll have James Walker, Jeff Eaton, Nate Haug, and Kent Bye with me.

That would be great! I'd love seeing you guys, and eaton can have fun tearing the data storage design to shreds! :-)
I'll see if I can get somebody...
... from Acquia to be there. I'll check on Barry, etc.
Ever since I joined this
Ever since I joined this group a few month ago, I was looking for attending the group meeting in a hope for getting a Drupal help for noobs (yes, I signed up for the boot camp next month).
Tuesday night is the only night I teach until 7PM :_(
P.S. I assume parking will be an issue?

Parking Lot
There is a parking lot directly across the street from where the meetup will be held. But it's Harvard Square and thus ~$20 for the evening.
I'm in!
Sounds like a great Meetup.
Cya all tomorrow.
PS
The first Lullabot DVD rocks!! It is by far the most lucid explanation of Drupal out there. Period. I own nearly all the Drupal books---- it's hard to keep up now with some many novel titles being published. :-)

Just want to check if the event is still on or there are any weather realted changes due to inclemant weather?
Meetup is on!
As the snow fall appears to be pretty mild at this point the meetup is still on.
Google account or other identity tie-ins...
Hello Drupal Boston folk- I'm a musician and occasional web designer of ill repute for organizations which I start or join. I am wondering about the problem of getting people to join websites... most people I know are tired of creating new accounts and distrustful of unfamiliar web situations, which makes the Drupal model not so good, practically speaking, for bringing people together. I had heard of possible Google account tie-ins- using Google account info as validation- wondering if anyone's been involved in that. Looking forward to tonight...

Did you feel like people
Did you feel like people answered this question for you? I didn't get a chance to share another piece of the puzzle - simplifying user account creation. For example, allowing users to login with their email address instead of a username, or allowing visitors to create accounts by just entering their email address without choosing a username or password. One module that I'm looking into is logintobbogan which does some of that.
Anyway, just wanted to follow up but if you want to discuss this further we should probably start a new discussion topic instead of continuing in this thread ;)
Thanks to everyone!
Wow! That was a great meetup. Great to see all the crazy new things coming down the Pike. Drupal 7 looks amazing!
Great to meet the bots!
Thanks to the Lullabots for coming and sharing their stories with us.

Still reeling, any way to share Fields in Core slide deck?
Passed on a bunch of the Drupal 7 update news to our tech team here yesterday, exciting stuff.
Is there any way to share the slides from bjaspan's presentation? Would love to pass it along, and also a great place to start thinking about all these changes and new possibilities.
Thanks to everyone who shared their awesome Drupal-fu.
