Drupal Scotland has just been awarded a $1500 grant (just under £1k) from the Drupal Association to support Scotland's third DrupalCamp, due to be held in May 2012 (dtbc). This will be a 2 day event with a presentation/networking event (aimed at business, government and higher education), a 'Hello Drupal' event for complete beginners, and a multi-session DrupalCamp event for all. The grant will be used for venue hire and other costs with the goal of raising enough additional sponsorship for the event to be free to attend. Full details of the announcement at https://association.drupal.org/node/13534.

The grant application was submitted by your local organising committee to help you, and help us foster the Drupal community across the whole of Scotland. You can, in turn, support the international Drupal Association across the globe by joining the DA yourself; it doesn't cost much, and there are some great benefits now available.

See you in May!

Fantastic. I will be booking in some holiday time so I can come to this.

I realise this is a silly question given how far away the event itself is but do you have a rough idea of when you'll be accepting submissions for potential sessions?

Rough Programme for DrupalCamp Scotland 2012

robcarr's picture

Rough programme leading up to May 2012 (as submitted in our grant proposal):

  • Jan 2012: Confirm dates and venue. Request for session proposals
  • Feb: Launch DrupalCamp website
  • Mar: Confirm keynote speaker and draft session program. Produce event flyer. Commence mass promotion and open registration.
  • Apr: Confirm session program. Print event material.

All very rough at the moment, but we should have a much firmer programme available in early January.

Rob, could you add a topic

Rob, could you add a topic tag for the Scottish DA and tag this please? (And the other post for the initial announcement if you made that, though I can't get to it because the pager is broken....)

Pager fixed

Pager now fixed on News and Announcements (by setting back to default values).
Just want to check exactly what an SDA tag would be for... as everything in http://groups.drupal.org/scotland OG site is essentially SDA business. Do you mean organising committee business (ie, a 'Committee' tag) - or something else?

Not trying to be awkward, it's just that once a Taxonomy term is created via OG, it can't be edited or deleted on g.d.o (possibly related to http://drupal.org/node/968248). And I think it's sensible to keep the number of tags to a minimum. Already regretting the 'DrupalCamp 2012' tag

Oh dear, I already filed an

Oh dear, I already filed an infrastructure bug for that on d.org.... http://drupal.org/node/1372830 if you remember the old pager settings that were broken could you comment on that?

I was trying to find the post where we announced the creation of the SDA, so I was thinking a tag for specific SDA stuff would cover things like that, the grant announcement, and committee business. But I see your point, and that's a pain about the taxonomy...
