Usability testing is a technique used in user-centered interaction design to evaluate a product by testing it on users.

Someone with usability testing skills:

  • knows how to observe people using the software to discover errors and areas of improvement
  • knows how to measure efficiency, accuracy, recall and emotional response of the users
  • knows usability testing methods, such as hallway testing, remote usability testing, expert review, interviewing techniques
  • knows how to manage a usability study (designing it, creating the research context, selecting the representative users to test, measuring the tested interactions, analysing the data and interpreting the whole research)
