Help finishing up a church Drupal-based site

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Our new church website is 85% ready to go live. Our Drupal developer finished the initial development and has left us in the troubleshooting stage. Since he has decided to move on and not complete the project, we are in big trouble. None of us are Drupal programmers. I am the designer. I know a moderate amount of Joomla, Wordpress, Magento and Expression Engine but I am not fluent in Drupal. In order to create a plan to move forward, we need someone to analyze the state of the development. Maybe it looks worse than it is and it's easy fixes for someone who understands Drupal taxonomy, or maybe it's a mess. We don't know. Could someone volunteer to spend a half hour looking at the backend of our website? We are the Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Santa Monica and our development site is at uuccsm.pairserver.com.

This could turn into a paying gig since we need to finish the site asap.

Thank you.

I'd be happy to look into it.

I'd be happy to look into it. Don't have a ton of time but might be able to help with the initial stuff.

Nice site

I have way too much time, but not much experience with taxonomy and back end stuff..

I was expecting to arrive at an unfinished, or broken site. But your site looks "finished". I've been clicking around. Other than some Lorem Ipsum on the staff pages, I can't find any bad links or weird errors.

Forgive me for my ignorance. But if your taxonomy is messed up, wouldn't it be obvious on the front end?

Or are ya'll mainly just wanting to make sure the back end of the site has a "good foundation"?

Site problems

Hi,

Thanks for taking a look. The site is indeed nearly finished. It looks good, just doesn't work quite right. If you click on the blog links in the feed on the front, they go to an empty page which is a term, not a view, but if you click on the title, you go to the blogpost. Sermons is missing from the front page menu under Sundays & Services, but is in the secondary menu on the inside pages. There's a bunch of stuff like this, mostly links not updating which I guess is a taxonomy issue.

We are now working with someone who replied to this post to try to tackle these problems. He's installed the pathauto module which was missing. I'll keep you updated. Thanks for your assistance.

Could probably help

Looks like a good skeleton, but obviously missing content and probably some views. Do you have any specification docs?

Did you get help?

If not, I could help too. I recently rebuilt our UU site in D7: http://unitytemple.org
