We need help with our website..yellowspringsfarm.com. The site was built in Drupal, but we currently have no help to support or update it.
On the home page, I do not think the current graphic design works. We have 2 businesses, a native plant nursery and landscape installation and a goat cheese business. We are trying to make the connection between sustainable landscapes and sustainable food systems. Our landscape clients are primarily residential, so mixing goat cheese with native plants is no big deal. When they look at our website, I do not think that target market would really get it. The current design is not symmetrical, it does not flow from one business to the other. I find it confusing so I am sure prospective customers do too. Navigation needs to be simplified.
Navigation
I do not think our current navigation is user friendly. For example if someone wants to buy plants or cheese on-line it is not obvious how to do it. Search boxes, contact us, my acct sign-in, buy on-line, shopping cart should be very obvious and front and center. If someone wants our landscape services that should be obvious too, but it is not. We have a lot of content, but not an optimal way to get to it or see it.
Ecommerce
I do not want to change the ecommerce site completely, since we just did this, but it is very hard to do inventory management. You have to go in to each product and change status. It would be nice to have an on/off switch where we can go down the list of products and click a box if in stock and un-click if out of stock. Also, it would be nice to have a step process for customers. …Step one log in, step too shop, step 3 check-out etc. to make it easier for people to buy plants or goat cheese products.
If someone can help us to a re-design or tweak, that would helpful.
