The April meetup is fast approaching so I thought I'd get the ball rolling to see what people would like to hear and what people would be able to share. With DrupalCon: Denver recently happening, there should be a lot of good topic ideas for this month.

Drupal 8 & Symphony Framework
I'm interested to hear what people have to say about D8 and the Symphony API. Specifically what type of things are going to change and how this will improve Drupal.

This is exactly what I was thinking
This is exactly what I was thinking would be a great talk for the next meetup. I saw a little bit about Symphony at Drupalcon and I'd be willing to put a presentation together unless someone else has more experience with Symphony and wants to do it.
I was also really interested in some of the CMI(Configuration Management Initiative) stuff that has just started materializing, but I think that's a topic for later months after more has been done on that front.
Did you create some slides
Did you create some slides about Dupal & Symfony. I will be having a presentation about it in a couple of weeks and kinda interested in related material

From the Newbie camp
These are too basic for general topics, but I can give you a preview of what I'm planning to cram into my 5 minutes:
1. What is the convention regarding attributing images? What are organizations (e.g., other web-sites and Flickr) expecting from an attribution? Also, I had been putting them into the image Titles but the WYSIWYG image handling doesn't appear to support titles so I've been sticking something into the Alternate Text. [Heads up Balboa Park guy - I snagged a number of your photos for my pages regarding the Free Tuesdays so I'll be looking to you for input.]
2. I'm currently still on Bartik and could remain on Bartik for awhile (until I get a grip on theming) if I could only figure out one CSS technique. Bartik has fixed widths for Sidebar 1, the Content, and Sidebar 2. I'd like to keep Sidebar 1 and Sidebar 2 with a fixed width but let the Content expand or shrink as the page width changes. My trial-and-error attempts have been dismal so I'm hoping some brilliant CSS coder will say "Oh, silly, that's easy. You just need to...." If you want to see the web-site to understand why I'm attempting this, it's at http://www.nimbleliving.com.
3. Any advice on handling email? I currently log into cPanel, navigate to the Webmail section, and log into Horde. I'm sure that the rest of the world has an email app or a convenient web-site to handle mail. Any advice?
Well, I'm fairly sure that that will fill up my 5 minutes.
Someone is bound to suggest that I join the Thursday night sessions at Pantheon. Wish I could but Thursdays are the only evenings when I can't make it due to work. But, I DID apply to be an editor for that Drupal course translation. That could help, if I'm selected.

In short, using % instead px
In short, using % instead px on a width will make it inherit the width of the surrounding element. However, Bartik isn't really set up to be easily changed to fluid-width. If you're still learning css it might be easier just to pick another theme. Usually the theme description will let you know if it has that option.
Check out gmail for your email. It can easily pick up and send from a you@anywhere.com type address. There are a myriad of other options (Outlook, Mail.app, Thunderbird etc) but Gmail probably the easiest to set up.
SD tech scene
Does anyone here know a strong symphony developer? I'm wholly ignorant of symphony, but when I heard that it was going to allow D8 to have edge side includes, I started salivating.
Bill O'Connor seemed to have a good handle on the implications of Symphony and Drupal, maybe we can ask him to come.
And why hasn't Dale presented in the 9 months or so since I've been here!?
I'm so ignorant to this, I've
I'm so ignorant to this, I've misspelled Symfony.
wow
now that you've mentioned it i did the same thing.
