The May meeting of the San Diego DUG is happening on Wednesday May 9th at 7:00pm at the Hall of Champions in Balboa Park.
As usual, we'll start off with introductions and news items.
This month we'll have two short presentations. First off we'll have Rich Yumul taking about the isotope javascript library and how he used it to make a snazzy video showcase for Qualcomm. Next Andrew Root will talk about using Facebook's APIs to aggregate social newsfeed items.
Next, we'll get into some lighting talks...
Lightning talks give anyone (and I mean anyone - you, the person next to you and the one across the room) the chance to discuss a recent Drupal thought, observation, or experience that takes five minutes or less to talk about. You can teach us something, wonder out loud why X doesn't work like you think it should, or ask questions about some Drupally thing you're struggling to understand. The only rule for Lightning Talks is that you're going to be stopping at five minutes whether you're done or not. Other than that's it's fair game, so step up and have fun!
We'll try to save some time at the end for general mingling and catching up.
Newcomers are always welcome, bring any of your friends that might be interested in learning about Drupal. We hope to see you on Wednesday at the Balboa Park Hall of Champions.

Facebook Comment Notification
Just remember that each module has its advantages & disadvantages. For example, Facebook OAuth does login (and registration) better than anything else, but that's all it does.
And here is the link I mentioned during my lightning talk regarding notification for the Facebook Comments Social Plugin (I tested the patch and so far it works, sort of):

Comments for user profiles?
UPDATE: I got it working! :D
It looks like this module is almost there. Has anyone figured out how to use Facebook comments for user profiles? I think I'm missing something simple here: http://drupal.org/node/1397524
