The SD DUG Website

Guys,
I'm constantly amazed at the dearth of information for non-developers. The material that I find typically has a large % of terms that I don't know which leads to a rabbit hole so deep that I never get back to the original question.
So, I've been thinking... as I learn this, I'd like to start explaining some of it in plain English but someone else would need to edit it because so much of my understanding is just guesses and assumptions.
I was thinking of adding a section to my web-site with this material but then realized that I'd probably suffer SEO penalties for that - though I'd get a lot more hits for that content than my current content. Anyway, now I'm wondering about writing it for the SD DUG website. How is that going? Will it be open to search engines or is it planned to be a closed site? If it will be an open site, I could draft the pages and the expert(s) could publish them once they're corrected.
I would also get something out of this - you know what they say...the best way to learn something is to teach it.
I tried to add this idea to the website discussion but the pager isn't working for me and that topic has left the front page.

[Update: After discussing it with Greg, I decided to go ahead and start my own site for Drupal-in-plain-English. It will be called http://www.nimblicity.com, for the excellent reason that I already own that domain name. The idea is that I'm just going to gradually add to it as I learn. And, hopefully, it will be a resource for others in my position (amateur non-developers) to help them avoid some of my frustrations and mistakes. My hosting company, Hot Drupal, is helping me set up the second site.
You're rolling your eyes and muttering something like "blind leading the blind", aren't you? I don't blame you. But, this site won't cover the hard stuff - just basics...which can also be hard for newbies. We, newbies, have to learn so much at once that it is often overwhelming. This will be the site that I wish were available for me.
I've already started writing the content. If it's not up by this weekend, it will be live by next weekend so it will be available for display, comments, and friendly ridicule by our June meeting.]

[Update: This site is live. It's called http://www.nimblicity.com. It currently has some simple stuff but I just added the process that we took to convert from a single-site to a multi-site configuration (all 20 steps). If anyone wants to contribute or edit what I've written, I'll be happy to give you credit, include your company logo (if applicable) and a link to your website. The only catch is that it needs to be really simple (i.e., at or below my level.)
By the way, after all of this talk about Pantheon in a different discussion, I decided to call them to see if they'd like to be included in the list of Hosting Companies for newbies. They politely declined explaining that their company was for Drupal professions.]
