So I've mentioned this a couple times, but I think it'd be really cool do to a more informal type of meetup every so often, such as a Drupal Happy Hour! I know a few other groups have done such things and as we all know, the after parties at the camps and cons are often where you really get to talk to other people about fun Drupally stuff in a less formal/presentation based atmosphere.
I haven't been able to make it to the last couple month's meetups because Wednesdays are just not possible, so perhaps this is also a selfish endeavour to get more local Drupal things into the mix on days I could make it. In either case, I wanted to get some ideas on some good places, days, times, that people might think would be good for such a thing?
Do you know of anywhere that wouldn't be too crowded/loud, has good deals on drinks? And I think having some actual food would be great!

Always happy to aggregate and drink! Nice venue is the Courtyard by Marriott, Mission Valley - recently remodeled Holiday Inn that is now very hip and chic inside. Expensive drinks but easy access, good parking.

We should make this happen this week
I just realized that this is the two-week mark in between meetups. Why don't we plan on doing a happy hour gathering at a Gordon Biersch type place this coming Friday at around 4:30pm till ??
Places like Gordon Biersch have plenty of parking like the Holiday Inn, but prolly also have drink specials, and I'm pretty sure they have food too.
Brenda, got any suggestions for places for this Friday?

We're here, where's the drupal at? Come find us on the patio :)
We had fun at the "first" DrupalSanDiego happy hour
Several of us gathered at Gordon Biersch on Friday night to celebrate some Drupal happy hour. It might not have been an 'official', sanctioned event, but we kinda thought that if we did it once, it might catch on for next month. Let's see if this works out as planned. :)
We also announced the happy hour meetup via twitter, so if you're not following our @drupalsandiego twitter account, now is the time to do so! We'll schedule another one for next month, and try to fit in in between the regular monthly meetups. That way we'll be able to feast on Drupal every two weeks instead of just once a month, yeah baby! ;)
