We are a church of about 75 people. As a result a small umber of people have to wear many hats on any given day or event. I need a way to do effective scheduling for the volunteers where we can look acroos the board and see if people are over scheduled into different areas of responsiblity or to be able to look at a particular event and ensure that we are adequately covered. Has anyone run into this and have any ideas they could share?

My church typically uses a Google Spreadsheet for this type of scheduling. ChMS solutions are also good for this. I can think of a few different ways that you could do this with Drupal, but they would all require a lot of configuration.
