Let's try to have our next Happy Hour gathering on Friday the 17th of July, kk? The last time, we met at Gordon Biersch which has good parking and outdoor patio space, but is not so cheap for drinks and snackin' foods. Average price of a pint was $7, and an appetizer was about $8.50.
How 'bout some other suggestions for a location with better specials and prices than the Holiday Inn or Gordon B., but still decent parking? Leave your ideas in the comments.

Unfortunately these fall on days I can't make them, either ... if we could do opposite Fridays (a week before or a week after...) sometime that would be cool. :-/
Ok, let's switch it up
Brenda, does the 17th of July work for you? And then every third Thursday of the month thereafter? If so, lets move the dates, yah?

Yeah, the 17th would rock!
Nevermind... 17th doesn't work afterall. Maybe I'll make one some day.
Have fun.
Hmm
There's so many potential places, I guess the real question is what part of town works well for everyone? I'm in the La Jolla area.
If you're in La Jolla, would
If you're in La Jolla, would you be willing to come to the Balboa Park area? How far would you travel for a Happy Hour gathering? 5miles? 10?

Mayahuel
I love this place for Friday evenings. They have outdoor seating. The food is fresh and authentic. Prices are reasonable and the margaritas are exceptional. It gets pretty busy after 8 but should be fine around 5 or 6. They have a small parking lot but there's street parking in the neighborhood. ($4 tacos, $10 dinners, $3.50 beers, $7.50 margaritas)
Downsides: No liquor for fans of mixed drinks and they're kinda funny about splitting checks if you're not sitting at the bar.

best san diego happy hour
Hey guys, I am new to this forum, but wanted to throw my 2cents in there. I often find myself in predicaments like yours, trying to choose a convenient restaurant/bar for happy hour with good food & drink prices. If you are looking in the Central San Diego area, I like to visit Baja Betty's in Hillcrest. It's a great atmosphere, good drink prices, and awesome appetizer and food specials. If your gathering runs well into the evening, they even have a Late Night Happy Hour too! You can check out their Happy Hour Specials here:
