Scenario:
I have a site that was built specifically for a service company. They have content types for job and address. On any particular day, they will have a list of jobs and their associated addresses (one address per job) displayed in a view.
I have installed VBO and configured it to modify the node fields of the job in this daily job view. It also displays some information from the address. In particular, it shows the mapping coordinates for the address on each job.
The customer has requested the ability to modify the address's map coordinates from the daily job view using the same workflow presented by VBO.
Problem:
Since the daily job view is a view of jobs, I cannot seem to modify the CCK values of the referenced address node.
Attempted Approach:
I have been successful in creating a Rule that executes VBO programmatically, but it does not allow the user to set the value of the map coordinate field. It only allows me to set a static value, which does not satisfy the customer's request.
I am interested to know how others would solve this specific scenario. My research has led me to Rules, but I may be too inexperienced in this module to architect the right solution. Also, if there is an obviously simple solution using another approach, please share!
Thanks!
Site Configuration:
Drupal 6.25
Rules 6.x-1.4
Views 6.x-2.16
Views Bulk Operations 6.x-1.13
