Hi,
I'm a software developer located just north of Boulder. I graduated last year from college, taught myself PHP, CSS, and HTML when I was about 15 and made some nerdy girly horse games with them, and now have worked the past few months with Drupal at my job in Munich. Due to financial reasons, I had move back home to Colorado. I am starting to take classes at CU in the fall to get some pre-reqs so I can start my master's in Computer Science. I did a lot of theming with Drupal and would love to get help with modules and the like. Anyone have any ideas other than just playing around and building stuff (which I have been doing endlessly and loving it!) I see there is a meetup in Boulder the second Wednesday of each month... which is in a few days? I would LOVE to be a part of this but am not sure where and when it is?? If anyone has any suggestions I'd be VERY appreciative!

Boulder Meetups
Danielle,
The Drupal Boulder meetup got cancelled this month because there is a Drupal camping event being organized (see http://groups.drupal.org/node/227003). You can find info on all the upcoming Colorado Meetups here: http://www.meetup.com/drupal-colorado/. Looks like the next Boulder one is in August.
Also, I am currently working on building and integrating an Instagram API module for a company I am starting and would love to teach you what I currently know and have someone to bounce ideas off of/work with. Let me know if you are interested by sending me a message or an email: frichman3@gmail.com. Thanks.
Danielle - we'd love to have

Welcome!
Welcome to the Denver / Boulder area, which is a pretty happening place for technology, and for Drupal especially. In addition to the Boulder meetup, there's also the DrupalChix meetup which moves between Denver and Boulder and which is focusing on climbing the 'Drupal Ladder' - getting folks comfortable about contributing to core.
I suggest also looking on meetup.com for other technical meetups - there's a fair number of them out there and can be very helpful as well. A few years back there was a Wordcamp (Wordpress mini-convention) in Boulder which was fun, but they haven't seemed to do it again since then.
