It's going to be fun!

I'm going to be dragging my S.O. along. Also, I'm gluten intolerant.

Just wanted to also say

Just wanted to also say thanks Bruce & Carol for doing this -- I won't be able to make it since we'll be celebrating our son's third birthday with my wife's family in Pennsylvania that weekend. It sounds like a good time and hope everyone has fun. :)

Alternate date...

BruceDawson's picture

In the spirit of Open Source Collaboration, No-Fail Systems, and the alignment of various astronomical events (read: User Groups), there is an alternate date:

Saturday, September 8, 2012

Originally, this date was for the GNHLUG (Greater New Hampshire Linux User Group) BBQ, but members from both GNHLUG and Drupal NH seem to be collaborating and sharing the experience - twice. The only difference (other than who attends) is that the 8 Sep BBQ is a BYOFood/PotLuck, whereas the 25 Aug date is "catered" (Miles Smith Farm is providing all the food); Miles Smith Farm will be providing just burgers at the 8 Sep event.

Cool.

I've got a nephew getting married on the 26th and I've been elected to be my mom's chauffeur for the weekend, so I won't be able to make it on the 25th after all. I should be able to do the 8th though. Will you be posting an event for that also?

Since that's technically a GNHLUG event, I wasn't going to post an event on DrupalNH. (However, I'm happy to be overridden.) The event has been posted somewhere on www.GNHLUG.org

And I'm sure GNHLUG would love to have a bunch of NH Drupalistas show up.

Only 6 signups?!

BruceDawson's picture

We're preparing to order food, and I only saw 6 signups. So if you are coming, and want food, please sign up! Deadline is Monday 20 Aug 2012.

Also, someone on GNHLUG suggested using www.punchbowl.com/learn as a coordinating tool. How do you feel about that?

Sorry for the lack of

Sorry for the lack of responses. I'd expect an average of two people per signup, and hopefully everyone will bring some liquid refreshment of their choice.

Re: Sorry for the lack of ...

No problem, but thanks for the advice - having never been to a Drupal function (other than the D4D in Cambridge a few weeks ago), I wasn't sure what to expect.

I'll probably do 3/signup as some GNHLUGers might show up.

We'll have some backup liquid refreshments too.

I'll be there and be square.

Menu

BruceDawson's picture
  • Bread Crisps with a variety of dips.
  • Burgers with a variety of buns (including gluten-free). (Including tomatoes, lettuce and other condiments). And a variety of cheeses.
  • Watermelon salad. (With blueberries, lettuces, and a sweet tamari sauce).
  • Potato salad (traditional recipe, with vegetable mayonaise).
  • Blueberry/Peach cobbler - not sure, but I think this is gluten-free too.

With the exception of the grains in the cobbler and the burger buns, everything was locally (and mostly organically) grown. Even the beef (which is all grass-fed)! Oh, some of the dips may have non-local ingredients, but all natural/organically raised.

Many Thanks to Bruce &

Many Thanks to Bruce & Carole. The BBQ was a lot of fun. Great food, good company, beautiful views (what a great location!), and I made some new friends... "Hi" to Clementine and Cocoa.
