I'm going to be down in South Florida in the next couple of weeks and thought I'd see if we couldn't get a Drupal meetup scheduled. With all the Drupal talent in the area, we really need to get a monthly meetup going.
How about 6PM on Monday, August 17th? Can anyone suggest a central-ish location (Boca Raton?) that might work?

at claudias cafe.
There is plenty of free parking,
easy to find,
lots of chairs
a wall for a projector,
good acoustics
FREE and OPEN INTERNET
good food,
and the back section is quite large.
I think it would be the perfect venue.
AUGUST 17th is a good day. I say do it for then.

We have a the venue all set up. I'll bring a projector.
We have one presentation already organized on building iPhone apps and linking them to Drupal.
We have 1-2 other time slots available for a case study or a presentation available. Please contact either @modulist or @vyoumans if you're interested.
We'll be posting an event on GDO, as soon as we have an abstract available for the presentation(s).

Boca is good for me this month.
I don't know many places in Boca, but there are Panera Bread cafes. There's also a library in West Boca, which has WiFi, and meeting rooms, open til 9PM. I'll look into what else there is.

I'm glad I decided to post my message about 24 hours ago about having a meetup in South Florida. Looks like there is definitely some pent-up demand for meetups down there! Very exciting!
It seems like you guys might want to think about alternating meetup locations between the Miami area and the West Palm area for a few months. Then, if there's enough interest, start having separate meetups. I wouldn't recommend fragmenting the South Florida Drupalers into 2 groups just yet - build some momentum first.
Regardless, I'll be there on the 17th - looking forward to meeting everybody (and seeing people I met at DrupalCamp again)!
