September 10th would make a pretty good wrap-up for DrupalCon where those that went could fill us in on what they learned. If people are still traveling maybe the next week would be a better time.
What do you guys think? And where? A bar or a place where we can actually look at monitors and demonstrate things?
...$100 for use of their space in the evening by groups. Or did a few months ago.
I've got an offer from someone at Yoh Staffing (1500 Spring Garden Street) to use a conference room there. It might feel a little boardroom-y, but would be free, pretty accessible, and have screen/projector for showing stuff off.
amazingly all those dates work for me. voted for the 10th just because it's sooner. any central location is good for me as long as it's quiet enough for discussion.
We could host at the Zivtech office. At some point in the near future we'll be relocating but for the moment we're at 1511 South Street and will likely still be here the second or third week in September. Our office isn't huge but it could comfortably host a small to medium sized meetup.
Either way we could host wherever we are. Just tossing it out there. Any objection to officially declaring it September 10th?
I'm pushing for Sept 15 at our new Zivtech office (32 Strawberry St in Olde City, former home of Indy Hall). We are moving on Sept 8, so that will give us a chance to set up and get a screen for our projector. (Also I am booked on the 10th)
Also, I'm thinking we should pick a theme and have informal presentations. With all the people who came or wanted to come to Drupaldelphia, maybe we can appeal to more of them to come to meetups.
Or instead of a real theme, we could just have people voluntarily take a few minutes with the projector to show something they're working on.
I really like the show and tell idea -- unfortunately I have a commitment on the 15th -- would love it if it could be another evening, but understand if that's all that works.
Given that Zivtech is going to host, I suggest that you guys just pick a final date and time and whomever can come can come.
I'm happy to help publicize, including sending it out to the camp registrants (even if I can't make it)
Well, it looks like we've got the most votes for the 15th and Zivtech will be in our new office then, so taking Sam's recommendation we'll make the announcement official.
We'll have a September meetup at the Zivtech office on September 15th!
I can actually make the evening of September 15th for this! Plus that's actually the day of launch for the new Drexel Libraries Drupal sites, so if there's a show-and-tell, I'd love to show that. ^^ I'd love to show the project that's been taking up literally of my time of late, especially as we're doing some pretty cool stuff for Drupal4Lib sites with the new iteration.
