What's happening to this group??

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Am I the only one in here who is kinda disappointed with the "group" dynamic here? It's almost like all this group has been good for lately is posting jobs that are sometimes not even related to PMs!

If you're interested in getting some real discussions happening in here, please reply.

Agreed, Shannon.

The only concern is that forums may not be the best place for PM talk, depending on the subject. Some of it is just better discussed by talking. My idea (probably too ambitious) is to have regular (monthly, some other interval?) calls where we get on and discuss a specific topic. Finding good times for multiple time zones would be a challenge as well.

However, being realistic, I know that most of us are up to our eyeballs in clients and may not be able to commit to anything regularly. However, I'm up for trying anything. Any other ideas?

A PM Group CAN Be Useful

CindyM's picture

I agree that not all PM ideas and issues would be best discussed here, and I'd be interested in a monthly call, or maybe every two months would be more realistic. A skype chat possibly?

But I think this group could still be useful (and certainly shouldn't be used as a job posting forum.)

For example, I'm about to start a thread about Trello.

Monthly call

svettes's picture

Sounds great, and am already talking with someone about monthly webinars for drupal PM's... however, I don't think this group should die a slow/painful death.

I'm really bummed not to see more discussion here, and even my provocative message only got 2 replies! That in and of itself is kinda pathetic :/ I say "WTF this group sucks", and no one replies = wow, we have no group.

I'm looking for ways to revive this platform for discussions in addition to webinars.

Does anyone want that?

PS - Cindy, your thread about trello is a perfect example of how we could utilize this. Knowledge sharing = powerful!

Count me in

I would love to get connected and help foster a PM community. I don't have any brilliant ideas right now but think maybe a first call would be a good place to start brainstorming.

Ok, let's do a call...

Maybe we can set one up for october, just to talk and feel things out.
I'll post back here with more info.

In the mean time, can anyone who reads this please share information that a) this group exists, and b) we need people to get involved again for f's sake or there is no point.

Agreed all around.

I'm happy to see the action on this group this week. I'll admit to not helping keep it active in the past, but I can start brainstorming ways to make this group more useful going forward.
