Just a few quick updates this week...
-
Session submissions have been streaming in and close on Friday October 26, so there's only 3 working weeks to get yours in at http://sydney2013.drupal.org/program/submit-session. All speakers will be eligible for a half price event ticket once selected.
-
We've passed the half way mark for available tickets sold, so let your friends and clients know to get theirs quick at http://sydney2013.drupal.org/register
-
If you're running a Drupal meetup in the next couple of weeks, please download the Spread The Word presentation at http://sydney2013.drupal.org/spread-word which outlines the call for submissions and other DrupalCon info.
Thanks!

Countdown!

Session proposals for DrupalCon Sydney will close at midnight on Friday - AEST. Not Daylight time, Standard time. That's Brisbane time. or UTC+10
What's that in other parts of the world? Early Friday morning if you're on the other side of the dateline.

okay - so that was confusing
okay - so that was confusing - on 21st Oct (9 days ago) i received an email subject
Drupal Groups Australia: 3 weeks left for DrupalCon Sydney session submissions
So I flagged it as needing to be done before then.
Now I just got an email saying "Session Submissions open for comments" which confused me. So looked at to the original email, and see that inside it had
"Australia: 5 days... left"
Hmm - is it therefore too late to submit the session on using CiviCRM, Webform and Views to provide a great CRM option for Drupal?

It sounds like your email
It sounds like your email notifications might be set to "Weekly" instead of "Immediate". Just click on your account name > Notifications > Subscriptions > Edit > Send Interval to change the settings.
The original post said "Session submissions have been streaming in and close on Friday October 26, so there's only 3 working weeks to get yours in at http://sydney2013.drupal.org/program/submit-session"
Hi Owen - nope I am set to
Hi Owen - nope I am set to immediate. The email notification for '5 days left' arrived in NZ in early hours of 21st, so think that was all sweet.
Just that the SUBJECT of the email is what I paid most attention to. (and it didn't have a 'RE:' to make me think to read further at that point in time.
This is still entirely my fault.
Is there anyone I can talk to/bribe about still getting a session proposal in?

I think the best approach
I think the best approach would be to state you case via the official contact form at http://sydney2013.drupal.org/contact
Thanks - will do
Thanks - will do

unlikely
We have almost 200 submissions already and can only accept about 25% of those, so competition is quite fierce already.

odd caching
that's really odd, the last two comments definitely weren't posted when I made my comment but I would agree with Owen.
