The Keene Drupal users group has its November meetup on the 1st at our usual haunt of 9 Church Street.
Anyone who has any interest in Drupal is encouraged to attend, whether you just use it in your day job & want to learn more, have used it for a while and need help with something, or are just interested in finding out about the most popular open source content management system.
Note: If there is a chance on the day of severe weather because of Sandy Fronkenstorm we will postpone this until the third week of November; I will post an update by noon on Thursday.
Topics
- Panels - what it is and how to use it for common pages. Time & interest allowing, we can continue to dive into further detail.
- Q & A.

Comments
Sorry for posting this so
Sorry for posting this so late, I wasn't sure there was going to be a Keene left after Sandy was done with it ;-) It's looking like the storm won't be too bad though as it finishes passing over us.
Might not make it
Circumstances being what they are...I most likely will not be able to attend. Family first...then Drupal ;-)
:(
Sorry to hear it, but I certainly agree with your priorities. Hope your family had a fun Halloween and we'll hopefully see you in December!
Not sure if I can make it either...
I only just got my power back this morning around 10am. I'll be spending a good part of the day playing catch-up. And then, I've been really involved in volunteering for the Obama campaign for the last couple of months, and we're coming down to crunch time.
So it kinda feels unlikely that I'll get there--although I would like to.

Just plain forgot
...until one hour after the event. I'm tattooing Dec. 7th to my forehead. Hope you gentlemen are well!
Summary
In summary: Panels.
Beth was the only other attendee and, as promised, we discussed Panels at great length, covering its basic uses for both one-off pages and for overriding node & term pages, then on to having different types of pages for different content types or vocabularies, then onto what Panelizer gives you, the in-line panels editor (IPE), and lots of other items.
Thanks!
I am now thoroughly impressed with what panels can do! Thanks so much Damien for sharing your knowledge!
Panelizer
Hi Damien,
Can you briefly summarize here what Panelizer provides, perhaps vis-a-vis the User entity or an Event content type?
Also, does Panelizer overlap with Display Suite or not? Is there a choice to be made between the two, or can they gracefully coexist?
Thanks in advance,
Bob
I'll be there next time. Been
I'll be there next time. Been a long week, and the rest is gonna be longer.

I hope the Keene Meetup went
I hope the Keene Meetup went well! Keene is a bit far for most of us on the Seacoast, but just in case I wanted to know if any regular attendees in Keene expressed concern that our two Meetups were on the same day. If so, please let me know and we can coordinate our schedules better next time.
