Montreal Drupalcamp Van, seats still available! The camp is Oct Sat 17-Sun 18. The van is leaving Thurs night from north of Boston, (commuter rail near by) and returning on Sun eve. The ride takes about 6 hours. The van is a shiny Ford rental and the cost is about $75 per person (gas included) with 8 people. Please let me know if you would like to join us on the road trip.

Now if only...

Now if only this road trip were to be as exciting as the Drupalicon road trip!! I really want one of those suits!! I'd be a lady magnet!!

If you get too many for your van, let me/us know, we should have 1 or 2 vehicles headed up and might have room for 1 or 2 depending. I think we'll be on the Friday afternoon, back late Sunday night route from what I'm gathering right now.

Hotels etc

I've started looking at accommodation too, and Appartement Hotel has 2-bed suites for $205US per night, though the Hyatt Recency is only 3 blocks away and has a 2-double bed for $208/night. Or Le Gite B&B for $97/night for a private room w/ shared bathroom.

Or this place, $54 a night, but the reviews are scary!

There's public transportation/metro in Montreal so if we need to stay a few stops away, there's no reason not to....

Hi, I'm in New York, but I plan to take a bus up to Boston, a subway /train to the North Shore and then hop in your van for the Drupal Camp road trip.

Also, I'll be staying with you in Montreal.

Let's keep in touch!

Staying at a hostel

lisarex's picture

Several of us will be staying at Hostelling International Montreal to save on costs, which is walking distance to McGill University.

It's gotten some good reviews as well (location is central and safe): http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g155032-d185724-Reviews-Hostelli...

I've got a 6-bed room reserved but will make it 10 if there are other Drupalchix interested :)

Jake Strawn (himerus) is handling the dude room :)

1 bed for a Drupaldude

himerus's picture

Yet another group of us are heading up from the CommonPlaces offices Friday afternoon. We have a couple drupalchix that will be staying with @lisarex & company, and we have 3 drupaldudes, and a room for 4 at the same hostel listed above.

I think the total cost per person for the 4 person room we have is around 70 or 75$ for Friday & Saturday night. (Both nights, not per night) I think I was quoted at 290 for 2 nights for the 4 person room.

If any other drupalers are heading up and just needs a bed for cheap, let me know.
I'm not sure if we have vehicle room at this point with our group though, but if you need a ride too, still let me know, and we'll see what's possible!

Darn Passport Expired

Bill Choy's picture

My passport expired. Hope I can get it renewed in 10 business days.
As of June 1, 2009, everyone from every country arriving in Canada by air, land and sea has needed a passport or equivalent travel document.

I hope the Saint Lawrence is not too cold, because I may have to swim home.

I just renewed my passport a

starshaped's picture

I just renewed my passport a couple weeks ago and it took roughly 10 days from when I sent out the information to when I got my new passport in the mail. I paid to have it expidited, though, so I'm not sure if that made the difference. You can give it a try to see if yours can get renewed in time!

Though I have been chatting with others that may be coming up from Boston area too, those you have listed above I believe is our total group. It's so exciting to be visiting this French-Canadian community in that some of us where in Paris not long ago. I can use my favorite/only phase again. Un cafe s'il vous plaît!

We have room for 2 more in the Drupal Van Montreal
