And the proposals are all in.

We have therefore nominations for the following cities in the following years:

2010

The bear against the vikings :-)

2011

What will happen next

The proposed venues for each city will be evaluated and researched further by Blueprojects.
In parallel, the location selection task force will evaluate the nominations based on the scorecard until October 5th and then put it all together with what Blueprojects found out.

a couple of Questions

Hey Awesome to see that were all in :)

Isabell im just wondering - You are listed in the german proposal, is that just name dropping by the germans or are you an active part of the Berlin community. The reason im asking, is that you in the same time are listed as one of the score card keepers. Woudnt that be kinda biased?

The reason im reacting to this is the rumors that we have heard that berlin is already selected -that goes a bit against the "complete transparency"that the DA have been talking about :(
Im guessing its just the usual babbletalk on ze interwebs?

Another thing is this the place where the rest of the drupal community can ask questions about the specific projects etc, or how is the form for that.

Hopefully we can keep the "fighting" in the usual good spirit of the mighty D.

the bear again the vikings you say ... Last time that went off the Danes won 2-0 ;)

Berlin is not already selected

And whoever says that is misinformed, or trying to cause trouble, or both.

Isabell has clarified her position with regards to the German proposal. Her name appeared there by accident.

I'm glad that Isabell

I'm glad that Isabell clarified so quickly, but I am now curious to know which other names—if any—were added to the Berlin prosal not because they are involved with the planning, but only because they left a comment on a blogpost.

The team that proposed Berlin

robertdouglass's picture

The Berlin team is composed of people across Germany from many strong user groups, and has worked together to put on a 220 person DrupalCamp, among other things. If there were other people listed on the nomination proposal who didn't play a real role or didn't have real interest in making a DrupalCon in Berlin a full success, those people would have said so.

In other words, the team is solid, and you can believe what is written in the proposal.

to discuss the nominations.

And for me, everything is open. Berlin is not recommended or selected. I am an advocate of this new process and would like to have everything clear and transparent. If the DA already chose, I would like to know myself, cause I am putting time in this as well.

And, me too, I would like to keep this in the good spirit of healthy competition.

thanx for the answers :)

Hopefull we get a open a lively debate!

To keep it even more open we have today decided to open op the danish backchannel.
Now our progress, ideas & planning will be posted out in the open for everyone to watch and participate in.

http://drupalcon.dk/planning/

We do this for following reasons:
It dosnt server a purpose to hide the ideas from the rest of the community - we have the visions, we want the communities respons now.

If it should happen that we dont get selected - we have upcoming international events, where these ideas will be used - so we dont throw anything out.
+ it keeps the motivation up for both the local copenhagen crew, we have heard horror stories from other local groups that have had a hard time getting the motivation up again after loosing a bid.

We truly belive that drupalcon is gonna be in copenhagen 2010 - we are that community that is the strongest to take on the size of a drupalcon 2010 - so we really dont have time to sit down and wait 14 days for "someone" to decide.

Rock on! and please come and kick to our project!
