wow
This event is awesome. Thanks to all who participated for Drupal Camp Manila 2013! Gem and I were happy about it!
Any resources on the event or the organization?
Hi guys,
Thanks very much for posting this and the picture with all participants, it looks like the Drupal Camp Manila 2013 met a large success.
As we are currently working on the organization of DrupalCamp China 2013 (open signups), I was looking for the Event page of the Drupal Camp Manila 2013 to check the signups (which users actually signed up), but couldn't find anything in the Philippines group related with the event or any of the presentation templates (for example, see: DrupalCampChina 2013 Proposal: High performance Drupal 7) in group's past discussions or past events.
Could anybody point me to the contents of the Drupal Camp Manila 2013?
What topics were covered? Who were the speakers? Any type of indicated/defined schedule? etc...
This would most likely be useful to us as well to be able to learn from the organization of this event and try to keep the good points or work on improving what didn't work well.
We would also greatly appreciate if you would have any kind of special advice, suggestions of what you didn't do, but think should be done in future editions, or any other recommendations that could help us improving the organization of the DrupalCamp China 2013 (feel free to post comments there as well, it would be highly appreciated).
Congratulations to all of you for the organization of this great event and sharing with the community these resources. We're certainly delighted to see such a healthy and lively spirit in the Philippines' local Drupal Community and will surely try to learn or get inspiration from this group to keep working on improving China's local communities.
Thanks in advance for all your comments, feedback, recommendations, suggestions or advice.
Cheers!
Re: Philippine Drupal Camp organizers
Hi Dave,
Welcome to the Filipino community of Drupal users & developers. Second, please don't be discouraged by the low post traffic on gdo/philippines as our folks have a tendency to use Facebook for internal communication. I can't really say the same for China since FB is blocked over there - but I'm sure you have a VPN so you can visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/phdrug
Please note however that we are in the works of moving towards putting a committee of cross-posting (and blogging) our events soon, so we can share them to the word properly.
As for the organizing tips / tricks / resources (or how we pulled it off) I highly recommend that you get connected with the lead organizers of DrupalCampManila 2013:
Or, if you fancy google hangouts -- let us know. Mine's http://gplus.to/marcky
If I've known that there's a DrupalCamp 2013 in Shangai, I would've planned a trip going there. It's too late now tho haha.
Marckee for Short
Hi Marcky, Thanks very much
Hi Marcky,
Thanks very much for your prompt and very clear answer.
I had assumed you guys would have been using some other system to work on the organization of the event.
Thanks for letting me know the group on FB and the contacts of the organizers, I will certainly investigate this further.
Too bad we didn't announce the DrupalCamp China 2013 earlier and didn't cross post with the Philippines groups, we would surely have been very happy to meet some of you guys from the Filipino community.
We'll try to keep you posted though on the event's organization and how it goes.
Thanks again for your reply and congratulations for this great success.
Thanks to all!
Thanks to all who attended the Drupal Camp Manila 2013! It was a success, thank you to all sponsors, and organizers all the way from cebu and manila team. We are all blessed to have a very nice and informative Camp!
Looking for more educational and informative events this year 2013!
Directory
Does anyone retain. keep or update a membership directory of all camp participant? Are there members who lives outside Manila participated like the Drupal group in GenSan?
Any info you share is very much appreciated.
All the best!
