Hi SD Group,
I'm having serious problems with my current hosting provider (hostican.com), where I have a vps setup. So I am looking to move to someone else. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Steve

I went on an extensive

I went on an extensive hosting search earlier this year and ended up settling on Servint (servint.net) with one of their Enterprise VPS plans.

My main criteria were:

  • Managed VPS (wanted more of a hands-off deal, didn't want to spend all my time maintaining the software and managing the server)
  • Cpanel/WHM (not a plesk fan)

I've been very happy with them so far. If I was looking for a non-managed vps, Mediatemple's dv plans had pretty consistently good reviews and a pretty extensive knowledgebase / community. Their main downside (for me) was that they use plesk, which has stricter licensing than cpanel and is limited to something like 20 domains.

KnownHost

We've been using KnownHost VPS for a few years now. http://knownhost.com/

Like others, we did extensive search to find a host which...
- is Fast
- has great customer support
- offers FULLY managed hosting
- cPanel

They have NEVER let me down. I would highly recommend them.

Solid Server

I manage a multisite (8 sites) at http://mediatemple.net/ on their Grid Server ($20/mo) but had MySQL bad neighbor problems (slow access) until I added a dedicated MySQL "Grid Container" ($20/mo additional). Never had a problem since.

Went with KnownHost.com

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I went with KnownHost.com as the pricing was good, initial response from their sales/service was quick, and I like all the configuration options they offer...hopefully they won't let me down like hostican.com did...

Thanks!
