Topics/Presentations
We'd like to see everyone come prepared to either pose a question/issue they've ran across in the past month or to share something cool/amazing they've discovered in the past month. There are plenty of questions out there, so let's make sure we know what they are so we can get them all answered at this month's meetup!!
Additionally, please use the comments on this event node to suggest topics. If there is a consensus, we will try to have someone prepared to do an informal presentation.
Dinner & More Drinks
After each meetup, we usually depart from the "structured" environment, and continue our discussions over beers and food. So, when we are done being geeky, let's order food!
We look forward to seeing you all there!!

Tonight's question
Is there a "site building way" to make a label a link only if there's underlying data (from a "cell" in a view)? I can demonstrate with a live site at the meeting. I'm also open to other possibilities to unobtrusively indicate there's data backing the info in the row.
In Views, you can 'rewrite
In Views, you can 'rewrite output'. Don't use the normal 'label' checkbox and instead, make your own html and use the normal HTML/CSS for a Views label and include your link. Also, when configuring the field, I think there is a checkbox to hide the whole cell if there is no results for that cell.
However, if you need the "link label" to appear if a different cell has data, that would require using a preprocess function.
We can talk more at the meet up if that doesn't work.

Not sure how...
The problem is rather messy because it requires making a "Company Name" a link, but only if the company has products in the catalog (otherwise its a non-link). The "Company Name" is what's in the cell.
So, I'm not sure of a good way to test if there's products in the catalog at this level. I'm not sure how to get a relationship to work towards these ends.
You should do a preprocess on
You should do a preprocess on the field in your theme's template.php.
Click on Theme Information in the Advanced column on the view edit screen. Find the field you want to change the display of. If the template is listed as:
views-view-field--myview--myfield.tpl.php, then, create the following function:function preprocess_views_view_field__myview__myfield(&$vars) {//code here to test the value of the other field and change the display of this field
}
In "code here" above, if you have Devel module enabled, you can do
dsm($vars);to see what is available for you to test with. For you to test with another field in the View, it has to be listed BEFORE the field you want to change. You can have it marked to not display.

Haaaa. So that's how its done.
Drupal has so many ways to skin a problem...
Miche... Thanks for helping with this. Unfortunately, after consulting with others, they feel it needs to be "more obvious" than a mere link. So I've got to rethink this.
Right now, I'm thinking either reorder the view so that the items listed at the top, and/or add a "look-at-me" sorta icon in a separate column.
Page Manager, Panels and Mini
Page Manager, Panels and Mini Panels my friend.
Handles all the contextual variants you have in mind and can possibly imagine.
I will say it again . . .
Page Manger, Panels and Mini Panels.

And Panelizer. Not that I'm biased. Nuh-uh, not at all ;-)
Also, don't forget about Panels Everywhere.

WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT
WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING. ACCUMULATIONS OF 8 TO 12 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE.
Just an FYI... We still have 2 days to watch the forecast and determine if we should cancel.
But I know that some of you travel an hour to meet us and I want to make sure that you are safe.

If someone is there, and the
If someone is there, and the truck runs, I'll be there; regardless of the state of the roads! (I've got 10" clearance on the white truck.)
They didn't cancel school...
They're only predicting 5" for today, and another 5" for tonight. They didn't cancel schools around here (Concord), so I think they're going to be able to keep the roads somewhat clear. However, the back roads will probably be more than a pain to travel on.
Carole said I could use the truck tonight, so I can be there regardless of the weather. However, if no one else is coming, I won't bother either; but I'd really like to get my social time in for the month! :-)
As long as the roads are
As long as the roads are passable, I'm there. Keeping fingers crossed (I don't get out much...)

They have been wrong before, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. My van is good in the snow but I do try to avoid driving in it if I can. They already asked me to work Thursday, I said "No" of course.

9"-16" predicted!
I think we should cancel... Are you all okay with that? I really don't want you guys on the roads.

I think we should cancel, all
I think we should cancel, all the snow reports have it going into the night. We could always give Google Hangout a try if people want to chat.
Mary M.
As much as it pains me, I
As much as it pains me, I guess cancelling is the prudent thing to do.
Are we cancelling till next month, or can we make it a postpone and grab another date this month?
No questions or issues to address... Just miss all my Buds...

Tonight
I'm still up for going out tonight. Snow doesn't bother me at all. If the meeting isn't cancelled, and anyone would like a ride, my wrangler can get through this stuff no problem.

School was canceled in Nashua
School was canceled in Nashua and the Patch has already reported 1 rollover on the Everett Turnpike. It's coming down now at a very fast rate and per WMUR it's going to pick up again this evening. So I'm not even going to try and make the meeting.

Feb 13 Meetup is Cancelled
As much as I would love to see all of you, I care about your wellbeing too much. I want you all safe and cozy tonight and not out on the roads. At the moment, I don't have plans to reschedule for another evening because I will be unavailable the rest of February. However, feel free to spin up another event if you would like.
Be safe. Stay warm.
