Pictures and flash videos disappear from the front page stories and teasers, but only in IE 8.
Anyone else having this issue?

In general, Drupal's teaser strips any html unless you specifically allow them. You can allow html content in teasers by editing the corresponding "Views".
Go to views, and click on Content:teaser. It will show you something similar to the attached image. In that, if you enable html content, then it may solve your problem. (I am not 100% sure).
