Refer visitors to meetup page

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

I have the impression that more meetup attendees follow the schedule on http://www.meetup.com/drupaldelphia/ than here.

I think for at least the meetups at Zivtech we should consolidate to just plan them on meetup.com rather than continuing to double-post. It's just hard to do any planning when the audience is split between sites.

Ivan or Nate can you update the main group page to include a link to the meetup page and refer people to that for meetups? Then we can make it 'official' that that's the spot for meetup info.

Anyone disagree/agree? Granted posting this here rather than meetup will have skewed results in terms of who looks at which site...

I think we got to keep something about the meetup on drupal.org since that is the obvious place to look for newcomers. (That is how I found the Philadelphia meetup)

Just point them to the right place

Can't we just point newcomers to the other site? It is untenable to plan meetups if we have to continue doing it in two places.

Meetup events on both Drupal.org and Meetup.com

I started to write...

The Baltimore Meetup has been on Meetup.com for four years. While Meetup.com does a much better job with promotion and handling last minute communications I still feel like the meetup needs to be on DDO too since it's the main place for all things Drupal...

But that's just silly, a link on the Phili landing page should do the trick... normalize!
