While at 2014 PNW Drupal Summit, Jeremy and I talked with a woman named Catherine from Black Mesh (in Chicago, I think). She mentioned how it would be good to get a code of conduct for the Utah DUG. This way we can provide a generic set of rules that keep our community and group open and inviting, as well as respectful to our existing members. I came up with one based on a few different code's, and wanted to know what your guys' thoughts were on it.
Utah Drupal User Group Code of Conduct
This code of conduct was derived from the Drupal Code of Conduct (https://www.drupal.org/dcoc), as well as the Ubuntu Code of Conduct (http://www.ubuntu.com/about/about-ubuntu/conduct), and inspired by several others. This document is in no way intended to prohibit or disrupt the flow of ideas and knowledge, but rather, to create an atmosphere that is enjoyable and healthy for all participants.
Be Respectful
Short version: "Be an adult, don't be a jerk."
The Utah DUG community and its members will treat one another with respect. Harassment, discrimintation, and bias for any reason will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to: offensive verbal comments; deliberate intimidation; physical violence of any kind; stalking; bullying (mentally, physically, and/or emotionally); and/or threatening.
Members who have a disagreement are encouraged to work it their situation as quickly as possible in a constructive manner, and, if need be, consult a mutually trusted 3rd party.
Please speak up if you notice someone else being subjected to such behavior. Refer them to this code and/or to designated leadership.
Be Considerate
We are all here to both network with other people interested in Drupal, and to learn more about the software itself. We should consider this when making decisions and working collaboratively. When presenting or showcasing something new, stay to what others can learn and take away from it, instead of using it as a moment to showcase yourself and your personal talents (although there is a time and place for that).
Open Participation
We invite anyone, from any company, background, and experience level to participate and join the Utah Drupal User Group.

Looks good...
Looks like Drupal and Ubuntu have done some good thinking for us here so we can just adopt. So far I haven't seen any of this kind of behavior, but it's nice to have it in place to refer people when they aren't being nice :).
Kudos
I was digging around recent groups posts and this caught my eye. Thanks for putting up a CoC, its an awesome thing to have in place. Btw: https://www.drupal.org/u/yesct is the rockstar you talked to.
I like it. Just noticed a bit
I like it. Just noticed a bit of a typo:
Members who have a disagreement are encouraged to work it their situation...
It should probably be changed to "work out their situation..."
