User group meeting
I am canceling the frontend meetup again this month and stepping down as the leader of this meetup. I simply do not have the bandwidth to continue leading this group.
It would be great to keep it running, because I think it's been an asset to our community.
If one of you wonderful people wants to step in, awesome, let's keep on doing cool stuff. If not, we'll suspend the meetups for the time being.

Thank you Austin
I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks to Austin for organizing the group as long as he has. As an organizer of other meetups, I know it's a LOT of work to try to wrangle speakers, get the venue set up, advertise the event, etc.
So, thank you, Austin, for all you've done.
I think this group can surface a new leader to keep this event continuing. Unfortunately I'm already committed to other stuff or I would volunteer, but I wouldn't be opposed to being asked sometime later in the year.
And in fact, I think it would be great to have a few leaders -- it's WAY easier with more than one person helping out; you can switch off months, delegate things to co-organizers when you're overwhelmed with work or pick up slack when you have some spare time, share responsibilities (e.g. someone only worries about speakers, someone else only worries about advertising, etc.), and just generally give each other moral support.
So if you're reading this and want to invite/trick your co-worker or friend into organizing the group with you, consider that! Because it can actually be pretty fun :)
I am willing to step up. I am
I am willing to step up. I am brand new to Portland, I have only been here for a few weeks. But, I was helping with both the Long Beach meetup and the OC Drupal Meetups.
I have sent aprohl5 an email regarding this.
Acquia's office move might provide a venue
It's worth noting that Acquia's PDX office is moving into their new space at the end of May, and the space we're moving into FINALLY gives us the capability of hosting meetups. I know we've been asked internally if there were any meetups we wanted to offer space out for. (In our old office, our largest meeting room held maybe 10 chairs AND required a key card to get in after hours...)
If there's a need for a place to host, Acquia's office here could probably assist. If I can assist in some way, let me know. I'm not in a position to host but sometimes just having a venue makes it easier...
I have secured a venue at our
I have secured a venue at our office at Clarity Innovations. But more help is welcome. It is always nice to have food sponsors as well. Drop me a line and lets work together to nail down some details.
